July 22, 1910, South Atlantic Ocean, RMS Gargantuan--A few short hours ago, Lizbeth Edwards’s greatest concern in life was to enjoy sabotaging the matchmaking scheme concocted between her parents and those of Maximillian Turner, a stranger to her. Max’s greatest concern was to avoid the unpredictable Lizbeth who was likely to think him in on their plot and punish him accordingly.
Now Max and Lizbeth’s greatest concern is the same… to survive the night and the days that follow.
A chain of events result in Max and Lizbeth disembarking prematurely and rather abruptly from the ship upon which they traveled. They find themselves stranded on a crescent shaped island, alone, or so they at first believe.
They discover that they are not alone, but their elation becomes apprehension as they learn the true nature of the people who come and go from the island. Their desire to be found is now replaced by the determination to remain hidden.
Max and Lizbeth must rely on each other if they are to survive the many dangers that inhabit the Isle of the Crescent Moon. Together they devise a plan of escape, but it will require all of their wits and skills combined if they are to succeed before it is too late.

I really enjoyed this story. I somehow missed the part where it was 1910 and was a few pages in before I figured it must be in the early 1900's based on the characters dialogue and social rules. I thought it was neat how even though I didn't know what year the book should take place in, it was obvious from the writing style that it was early 1900's. Since the rest of Ms. Simonin's books to date that I've read are all in present time I think this shows her versatility in writing style. The story held my attention well and I was able to relax while reading it, secure in the knowledge that things would work out. Maybe some people don't like that predictability, but I read enough horrible news stories that I crave that security when I read for fun. Another great read by my newest favorite author.Product details

Isle of the Crescent Moon edition by Melissa R L Simonin Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Once again Melissa Simonin weaves an incredible story with dramatic dialogue. The bantering between the main characters left me smiling and wondering what they would say next. The story had a bit of mystery, romance, and survival all rolled into one.

Amazing story and characters! I fell in love with Lizbeth and Max from the start. Their adventures were so full of suspense and so much humor! Ms Simonin books never fail to make me happy! More, more!
I did not want to put this book down once I started reading. Love the main characters and the plot is not the typical " strangers stranded on a desert island". The island isn't deserted, and the people there aren't cannibals, but they are just as dangerous! To survive, the characters have to keep from being found, but the only way to escape is through the other people on the island. Therefore the book is suspenseful! It is a great mix of stress and humor and did not leave me exhausted and needing a break. Love how the book ends and the part with the "angel of death" is too funny. Melissa has created a masterpiece once again!!!
I loved this book! Great story, suspense, romance, adventure, wit -- just a wonderful book all the way around!
This book was impossible to put down! The witty manner in which the main character converse was enthralling. This was a super clean read with enough action to keep my eyes glued to the page. The author is a fine wordsmith that does not need the crutch of smut to weave her story.
I was concerned when I noticed some commits that didn't like this book but I've loved all her books so go it anyway. It is my most favorite of all her books with the exception of the series about Miles. I just love the setting, situation, and the characters in this book and would love to see more books about them.
I highly recommend any and all of Melissa R. L. Simonin's books. She is a super author. Guess we have all heard about someone saying that once they start reading some books that they have a hard time putting the book down. Melissa's books are that way. Her characters become so real and life like, you actually become friends with the characters. I believe you will enjoy reading each page of the book, I know I did. Thank you, Melissa R. L. Simonin for another great book.
